Lelia Janet Collins
Janet was the 7th child of Pa Lou and Granny Donie
She was born April 10, 1917.
I only have a couple pictures - this is an early one
This picture is probably late 1917
She was married to Norman M Ashburn (Monte) on November 11, 1935.
She lived the majority of her life away from the "hills". She spent the last 40+ years in the Portsmouth area.
She passed away September 19, 2002. She is buried in Olive Branch Cemetary in Portsmouth
"Monte" passed away April 13, 2003. He wanted to be cremated. He loved the area in Giles - his ashes were spread in the area he worked during 1934 - 1935 with the Civilian Conservation Corps.
